(Leiden) – Leiden and Beijing will focus on starting up a Bachelor in Informatics which takes 4 years, of which two are to be spent in Beijing and two in Leiden. Graduates will receive a so-called double degree which means the diploma is issued by both Leiden as Beijing. The two partners have already got plans for Master programs as Computer Science, ICT in Business and Mediatechnology, and a doctor’s degree. Leiden’s Bachelor in Informatics has been evaluated by students as the best informatics program in The Netherlands for the past three years now.
Other plans include exchange of students as well as staff, research collaboration, academic and scientific activities (congress), and the exchange of academic means and publications. All this fits in Leiden’s effort to become more international of nature regarding research and education. Other partners of Leiden include the University of Porto and the University of Siena. Additional to the existing informatics programs and tracks, Leiden also collaborates with the Erasmus University of Rotterdam to offer the track Informatics and Economics.
